Simply Supporting Singles grows out of the website author's own singleness, the lack of support in the church and the world for single people to remain single if that is the position they be in by choice of their own or by the hand life has dealt them. Instead of trying to force people to make choice they may not necessarily want to be in a relationship like happened to me, having well meaning friends push me into unwanted relationships on, in this case with both parties involved not wanting it.
The reasons different people are single, and not in a relationship are vast and varied, single never married because they never found someone they would want to make a long term relationship with, or divorce, entering a catholic priesthood or similair that doesn't permit a life partner, death of a life partner, making a faith commitment not to marry to serve God more or in their view more full time better or even because of homosexuality and all the variations that has.We are always looking for your links of other groups and these can be emailed to colourfuldave@gmail.com or post to Colourful Dave Simply Supporting Singles P.O. We believe in remaining celibate unless married as God ordained. We realise that is difficult but still to be aimed for as God ordained.
For whatever reason you are single whether it be one of the above or by any combination or other reason we are here out of experience and to support where possible only by offering information.
As stated above we are not a dating or match making service. There are already plenty of those around.
We are here to support you through information but if you find that special someone that's fine too.
Lets face it being single can be lonely. But you don't have to alone. Wherever you are God is with you, walking with you despite your situations. Jesus walked this life mostly with people who misunderstood him. And he was physically separated from his heavenly Father who he know loved him and does you regardless of your reason for being single and everything else. There should be more sites like this with more people leaving it till later to enter a long term relationship and more people getting divorced. People are single more and society, plus sadly the church doesn't seem ready for it. I can't offer practical resources to help apart from websites like this one and some of my others for different reasons like for the mentally ill at www.christiandisabledaustralia.net as well as www.thechristianqueer.net for gay and lesbian Christians regardless of their choice or views on these matters. Unfortunatelly I don't have the time, finances, practical skills or other resources required. I also have no formal qualifications to counsel or assist in any area so don't do this.
